August is on us and the new semester is a few days away from commencement.

UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bugema University to enable it to start offering DEGREE PROGRAMS.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Friday 29th July 2022 in a ceremony that took place in Bugema University-Main Campus.
Speaking at the signing function, the Director of UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Charles Ogwel said that the signing of the agreement is the beginning of a new journey for UMCAT to become a fully-fledged university.
“It’s the beginning of the journey and like in the Bible this will deliver us to the Promised Land,” said Ogwel.
Ogwel noted that the signing of the MOU is going to enable UMCAT and Bugema University to build synergies for producing the best next-generation human resource that is guided by ethical values.
The acting Vice Chancellor of Bugema University prof. Katamba Paul said that under the MOU the two institutions will co-operate in key areas such as teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement.
The Principal of UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication Joseph Elunya has confirmed that the Bachelor’s Degree program is ready this August beginning with BA in Journalism and Mass Communication.
So if you’re Alumni and you’ve been waiting for a chance to upgrade from a Diploma to a Bachelor’s Degree, or if you have long contemplated joining UMCAT but on a Degree level, WAIT NO MORE. For admissions for August were opened on Monday.
